Prickly Pear National Park

Prickly Pear, North Sound, BVI

British Virgin Islands
Situated on the North Sound of Virgin Gorda, this 243-acre island was declared a National Park in 1988 for the cacti-covered hills that slope down to several pristine beaches.  The best beaches can be found on the northern and eastern shores— The North Beach, in particular, offers prime swimming and snorkeling—while hiking enthusiasts will revel in a hiking trail that leads from the Sand Box Bar, over a gentle slope, down to the North Beach.
